Who We Are
Southern Paws Rescue, Inc was founded in 2021 by Michelle Dusing. Southern Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that rescues and adopts out animals.
Animals Are Our Mission
We focus on making the maximum positive effect. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum we need. Using community driven models, we take actions that make a long-lasting difference. The mission of Southern Paws Rescue, INC. is to rescue, rehabilitate, and adopt out animals. Southern Paws Rescue will serve the area of Asher, OK. Asher is a rural community in Pottawatomie County with a population of approximately 689 people. The closest grocery store is 25 minutes away and the nearest Walmart is 29 minutes away. Asher has a lot of dirt roads and it is estimated that there are around 5-10 dogs dumped on the dirt roads a month. The nearest animal rescue is 30 minutes away and they only serve their own area. Donations help to cover the costs of vetting the animals so they can be available for adoption. Vetting will include spay/neuter, shots, microchipping, and any immediate care.
